Review by James P

Noxious Variations, the latest album by Brian Grainger, is a mesmerizing and thought-provoking work of ambient music. The album consists of 11 tracks, each of which explores different variations of soundscapes and textures.

The album opens with "Noxious Variations I," a haunting track that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Grainger's use of layered drones and subtle melodies creates a sense of unease that draws the listener in.

As the album progresses, tracks like "Sulphur Shadows" and "Dystopian Dreams" continue to build on this sense of unease, with Grainger using a variety of sounds and techniques to create a sense of depth and complexity.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Tainted Air," which features a haunting piano melody that is gradually overtaken by swirling synths and distorted sounds. The track is a perfect example of Grainger's ability to create a sense of tension and release within his music.
